Pikmin 4’s Switch 2 Demo: Make a Small Practice Plan

Choose exploration or a timed challenge, try one route change, and separate Dandori practice from the exams that unlock Bloom rewards.

A free demo is a good place to find out which part of Pikmin you want more of: exploring a little world or improving a carefully planned route. Pikmin 4’s Nintendo Switch 2 Edition demo offers a taste of both, ahead of the full edition’s November 12 release.

Choose what you want to try

Nintendo’s Pikmin Day presentation announces the November 2 demo with Sun-Speckled Terrace, the opening area, and two Dandori Academy stages. The US presentation page links to the free demo.

Start with the opening area if exploring is the attraction. Choose an Academy stage if you like the idea of planning how to collect treasure more quickly. Nintendo describes looking for better routes and choosing which Pikmin carry a treasure as part of that challenge.

Give your next attempt one clear purpose

Our suggestion: keep a three-line note beside you. It can be a scrap of paper, not a detailed map.

  • First route: Which treasure will you head toward first, and what will you do next?
  • One change: After an attempt, choose one decision to alter. Try a different collection order rather than changing every part of the plan at once.
  • What happened: Record the result shown by the game and where you hesitated. A smoother route can be worth keeping even while you are learning the controls.

For a shared session, take turns choosing the next route idea. Comparing two plans gives everyone something specific to discuss, without needing a perfect run.

Practice and Bloom rewards are different goals

The official Pikmin Bloom reward guide distinguishes practice from qualifying exams. Practicing a demo course does not meet its exam-reward requirement; the guide places demo exams on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays after the full edition releases.

If a Bloom reward is your goal, check its exact requirement and use the same Nintendo Account in both games. Rewards already received cannot be claimed again. For today’s practice session, the useful goal is simpler: finish with one route decision you understand better.
