AK Interactive 3GEN AFV Series – Historical Armor Acrylic Paint 17ml
-
Complete 80+ Color Range for Armored Vehicle Modeling – The AFV Series is AK Interactive's dedicated color system for armored fighting vehicle modelers, spanning every major era and nation from WWI through modern military. Covers authentic RAL, Federal Standard (FS), and national-specification colors needed for historically accurate scale tank, APC, and vehicle builds.
-
Authentic RAL-Matched German WWII Colors – Includes the canonical German armor palette: RAL 7021 Dunkelgrau (Panzer Grey), RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb (both 1943 and 1944 Ausgabe variants), RAL 6003 Olivgrün, RAL 8017 Rotbraun, RAL 8000 Gelbbraun (Afrika Korps), and the full three-color camouflage palette used across the Wehrmacht from Panzer IV through Tiger II.
-
FS-Matched US and Modern Military Colors – Federal Standard reference colors for US armor (FS34151 Light Green, FS30099 Earth Brown, FS30257 Earth Yellow, FS33070 Olive Drab, MERDC camouflage shades, CARC Tan), plus modern NATO, IDF, Russian, and French military palettes — the same reference shades used by the US Army, MERDC camouflage system, and NATO-specification vehicle coatings.
-
Matte Finish, Airbrush-Ready Chemistry – Each 17ml dropper bottle contains the same 3rd Generation acrylic formula used across AK's 3GEN line — high pigment density, matte drying surface, water-soluble, and compatible with AK11500 Acrylic Thinner for airbrush work. Ready for direct brush application or airbrush thinning without reformulation.
📝 Product Description
AFV modeling lives and dies on color accuracy. A Tiger I in RAL 7021 Panzergrau reads as fundamentally different from one in RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb — and neither is interchangeable with a modern NATO Green or an IDF Sand Grey. The AK Interactive 3GEN AFV Series exists because generic hobby paint ranges force modelers to mix or approximate these specific historical shades. The AFV Series delivers them as named, documented, batch-consistent colors across the full timeline of armored warfare.
The range is organized around real historical reference systems. German colors follow the RAL codes defined by the Reichs-Ausschuss für Lieferbedingungen. US colors follow the Federal Standard 595 reference. British colors follow the S.C.C. (Standard Camouflage Colour) numbering. Modern military colors follow NATO, IDF, and national-issue specifications. Each variant in this listing is named with its era, nation, and reference code so modelers can match a kit's painting guide directly without cross-referencing external charts.
The 17ml dropper bottle is AK's standard 3rd Generation format. Same chemistry, same pigment density, same matte drying surface, same airbrush performance as the General Series 3GEN paints — the AFV Series is specifically the subset of colors for historical armor rather than a separate product line. Modelers who already use 3GEN paints can expand into AFV-specific colors without adjusting their workflow, thinning ratios, or varnish compatibility.
🎯 Color Range Overview
The AFV Series organizes into eight historically-grouped sub-ranges within the single product line. Select your specific color in the variant dropdown above.

💡 How to Use
Shake the dropper bottle thoroughly before each use to redisperse settled pigment. For airbrush application, thin with AK11500 Acrylic Thinner at a 1:1 starting ratio, shifting to 2:1 for fine detail work at lower air pressure. For brush application, apply directly from the bottle in thin even strokes, building color in multiple light layers rather than one heavy coat. The 3rd Generation formula dries to a matte surface that accepts washes, filters, pigments, and weathering effects cleanly — apply standard AK weathering products over the cured base coat without an intermediate varnish layer. For glossy finishes (decal preparation, panel-line wash prep), apply a 3G Gloss Varnish layer before the weathering step. Clean brushes with water; clean the airbrush with AK11505 Perfect Cleaner. Allow paint to cure fully before applying varnishes or subsequent paint layers.
