RuneScape’s Masterwork Preview: Plan Around the Armour You Own

Planning your next RuneScape armour goal? Start by checking the name of the set you already own. Jagex's Masterwork preview gives existing Trimmed Masterwork owners and players planning a new upgrade different things to put on their to-do lists.

If you already own Trimmed Masterwork
In its October 30 Late-Game Rebalance preview, Jagex says existing Trimmed Masterwork pieces will automatically receive Tier 100 stats when the update arrives. Owners do not need to perform the new crafting upgrade to receive that change.
If you are working toward an upgrade
The proposed route from Tier 90 Masterwork to Tier 100 requires 110 Smithing and the “It Still Should've Been Called Aetherium” achievement. The recipe will use the Tier 90 armour, armour trim and Primed Glorious Bars. Tier 90 Masterwork and its 99 Smithing unlock stay unchanged.
Jagex places the update in late November and says the design may change before release. That makes this a planning window: the preview is not a change to today's crafting requirements.
Make a small armour-goal note
Before turning a headline into a shopping list, write down:
- Your starting point: the exact armour names in your bank or equipment, rather than simply “Masterwork.”
- Your goal: keep using an existing set, make an upgrade yourself, or research a future replacement.
- Your next check: Smithing level and achievement progress if crafting is the goal; the final release notes if you are waiting for an existing set to change.
Keep material quantities and a total cost as blank lines until the final recipe is available. A list of ingredient names is useful for orientation, but it is not yet a complete crafting budget.
Our suggestion: choose one next action that matches your starting point. Checking an achievement or identifying your current set is more useful than collecting ingredients without a settled recipe.
